Would you like to meet some new people or become reacquainted with familiar neighbors here at Pennbrooke? The Casual Dining Club provides an opportunity for Pennbrooke residents to meet and enjoy the company of other residents in the privacy of their homes.
Three dinners are scheduled during each winter season. A couple or pair of individuals only “hosts” a dinner once a year. The rest of the time, they participate as guests at other homes. The club coordinators prepare the schedule of hosts and their guests so that all club members can participate in all three dinners.
Each host coordinates a mutually acceptable date for their dinner for the six-week dinner period assigned to them. The host provides the entrée and arranges the menu, suggesting to guests additional food items to round out the meal. Dinners are not expected to be “gourmet” but on the casual side, and some people prefer to host a brunch or lunch. Hosts may include games or other entertainment, but for most, the opportunity to enjoy a conversation with other neighbors is usually sufficient. The meals are a wonderful opportunity to meet people you may not know and have fun in the process.
The yearly deadline for participation forms is November 1. Please complete the information on the form below and bring the form to the Resident Service Office (RSO).
We want to encourage individuals as well as married couples to participate. Also, if you are a new Pennbrooke resident and you have missed the deadline, please contact one of the coordinators. We will try to fit you into the schedule.
