The Casual Dinner Club provides an opportunity for Pennbrooke residents to meet and enjoy the company of other residents in the privacy of their homes.
Four dinners are scheduled during each winter season. A couple or pair of individuals only “hosts” a dinner once a year. The rest of the time, they participate as guests at other homes. The club coordinator prepares the schedule of hosts and their guests so that all club members can participate in all four dinners.
Each host coordinates a mutually acceptable date for their dinner for the two month dinner period assigned to them. The host provides the entrée and arranges the menu, assigning the guests appropriate food items to round out the meal. Dinners are NOT expected to be “gourmet” but on the casual side. Some hosts also include games and or other entertainment but for most, the opportunity to enjoy a conversation with other neighbors is usually sufficient. The dinners are a WONDERFUL opportunity meet people you man not know and have TONS of fun in the process.
We want to encourage individuals as well as married couples to participate.
The yearly deadline for applications is August 26th. To secure an application ,get one from the clipboard in the Activity Center or call Pat Moore, Dinner Club Coordinator, at 365-4333.
