Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
This small zoo, with the exception of one hippopotamus, features native Florida wildlife. It is clean and the presentation is well done. An underwater observatory located 
in the spring allows one to get face to face with Manatees, and several varieties of fish. Manatee and other wildlife encounters are presented daily. Most of the park is shaded and is comfortable on warm days. From the main visitor center your visit starts with either a boat ride, or tram ride to the exhibit area. Many people like to visit the park in the morning, when the wildlife is most active, and follow the visit with a picnic lunch at one of the tables located near the parking lot before heading home. There is also a small café. The ride from Pennbrooke Fairways is usually a little less than one hour.
